HANDS LIVING
*in Náhuatl *in Zapotec
In Oaxaca, artisanship means Life, History, and Tradition.
Thousands of artisan families work day by day to create the pieces that shape one of the most authentic and well-preserved cultures in the world.
Entire villages specialize almost exclusively in a craft: mezcal, traditional clothing, textile art, alebrijes, jewelry, pottery, basketry, stone carving, or leathercraft. The knowledge passed down through generations produces works of excellent quality, but too often, lack of opportunities forces people to emigrate, fractures families, and causes the gradual disappearance of the culture.
Mama Nabani is born to introduce crafts filled with Oaxacan living history and support as many artisans as possible through Fair Trade, combating poverty in their communities and keeping families together.
Wherever you are, now you can live the magic of Oaxaca and play an essential role in preserving this magic alive. We all are Hands Living. We all are Mama Nabani.
